Take Action: Ensure Meaningful Access to Abortion for All

Last December, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization—a case involving Mississippi's ban on abortion care after 15 weeks—and is now deciding whether or not to overturn Roe v. Wade. A ruling to uphold Mississppi's ban would virtually eliminate the right to an abortion.

As a growing conservative majority on the U.S. Supreme Court and anti-abortion state legislators continue to attack access to abortion, we know that protecting this constitutional right is critical, but it is not enough. We have to transform how abortion is treated in this country, especially for those whose abortion rights have been most obstructed.

Policymakers must go beyond baseline legal protections to ensure meaningful access to abortion for all. This means building a cultural and systemic framework that values abortion as essential health care.

Tell your members of Congress: It's past time for a proactive abortion agenda.

A proactive abortion agenda includes:

  • Codifying the right to abortion into law
  • Appointing judges with pro-abortion rights records
  • Preventing government interference
  • Making abortion affordable for all
  • Ensuring everyone has access to the full range of options for abortion care
  • Protecting patients and providers
  • Integrating abortion into the broader health care system
