President Biden has proposed an ambitious plan to invest in our nation's clean energy future and tackle the climate crisis, while addressing the injustices of the past and creating new jobs.
We have a moral obligation to leave a habitable world for future generations. By making investments that tackle climate change, drive clean energy development, and create jobs, we can meet this moment while providing immediate support to those who need it most. Low-wealth communities and communities of color are most vulnerable to pollution and the impacts of climate change. The president's plan places the communities that have been most harmed at the center of this historic investment plan, mandating at least 40% of investments benefit these communities.
It is urgent that Congress pass a bill that makes the big, bold, and ambitious investments needed to tackle the climate crisis, achieve true environmental justice, and accelerate the transition to clean energy. To meet this moment, to heed the science, and to make good on President Biden's promises, Congress must act now to deliver on climate, justice, and jobs.
