Congress Must Invest in Clean Energy

Gas- and diesel-powered cars and trucks contribute to the largest source of carbon pollution that causes climate change—the transportation sector. These gas-powered vehicles also release toxic pollution that causes asthma attacks and other health problems. But there's a solution: Congress has an opportunity to make clean electric vehicles more available and more affordable for more Americans—while creating high-quality, union jobs.

Congress must make major federal investments in clean energy infrastructure—including in electric vehicles, their manufacturing, and their chargers—to put people back to work while fighting the climate crisis.

It is urgent that Congress makes the big, bold, and ambitious investments needed to tackle the climate crisis, achieve true environmental justice, and accelerate the transition to clean energy. To meet this moment, to heed the science, and to make good on President Biden's promises, Congress must act now to deliver on climate, justice, and jobs.
