Tell the Supreme Court: Protect Emergency Abortion Care Under EMTALA

On April 24, the same ultraconservative U.S. Supreme Court majority that overturned Roe v. Wade will decide whether states with near-total abortion bans can criminalize emergency medical providers for performing lifesaving abortions.

Idaho v. United States challenges the state's restrictive abortion ban for directly conflicting with the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act, a federal law that requires doctors treat patients who need emergency care, which can include abortions in some cases.

This has left emergency medical providers in Idaho in fear of jail time and of losing their professional license and left women in fear of not getting the medical care they desperately need. If the Supreme Court sides with extremists, Idaho v. United States could make these fears a reality in every state in the country.

Vulnerable pregnant women and their medical providers continue to bear the consequences of an extremist Supreme Court majority.

Tell the Supreme Court to stop politicizing medical care and protect emergency abortion access now.
